and 10 Years of the Annual Ravenswing Arts + Music Fair:
Ravenswing Ottawa 10th Anniversary Launch Party Friday, April 8, 2016
Pressed Café, 750 Gladstone Avenue
8-11 pm
This May marks the 10th Annual Ravenswing Arts + Music Fair. We are very proud of our achievement and to properly celebrate the occasion we will be hosting a launch party on Friday, April 8 at Pressed Café (750 Gladstone Avenue) beginning at 8pm.
To kick off the evening, we will be announcing the winner of Ravenswing Ottawa’s raven logo contest. Local artists submitted original artwork to be used as the logo and in the promotional media for the 10th Annual Ravenswing Arts + Music Fair, which will be held on May 29, 2016. The top three winning entries will win cash prizes, and the winning logo will be featured on the Fair poster and merchandise that will be released at the event.
A vernissage of the contest entrants will be held at the launch party. We are happy to announce the artists whose works will be exhibited:
Nadine Cheney
Gord Coulthart
Patricia Cuti
Cheryl Dolan
Amanda Dookie
Liz Furner
Laura Inksetter
Linda Malik
Emil Mateja
Magdalena Morataya
Jacqueline Mudie
Heather Munro
Christine Osborne
Sabrina Ricard
Cam Rollin
Jacquie Trowell
Clara Whittaker
For the month of April, these artists’ submissions will be on display in the shop window at Troubadour Books (508 Bank Street near Catherine Street). Take a look at the entries between April 1 and 8 and join us at our Launch Party to find out who won!
We will also be celebrating 10 years of live music and spoken word at the Ravenswing Arts + Music Fair with live performances by local band Fire Antlers and spoken word artist Just Jamaal. A compilation of music from performers who have played at the Fair over the past 10 years will be available for purchase.
We are extremely humbled by the support of the Ottawa arts and music community over the last nine years. We look forward to launching our 10th season and continue celebrating creativity in the nation’s capital.
